Alba Campus, Livingston
2001
The Alba Campus in Livingston was to be developed as a high quality campus for the technology industry focussing on inward investment to Scotland’s burgeoning High-tech economic base. Our proposals sought to reorganise the site to create more density and to create a significantly imporved quality of environment.
By reorganising the buildings around a series of formal landscape places and water features we were able to offer the incoming companies a strong sense of community and place - a commodity much lacking in many of our contemporary office parks. By placing more attention to the organistaion of the buildings and spaces themselves we were able to increase the overall density of the site by almost 40% without reducing car parking ratios or additional infrastructure.
